If tennis is your game of choice or merely one in a handful of things you enjoy, Bermuda Run’s Tennis Center is the place to be. The center features programs, lessons and clinics for players of all levels and ages. Bermuda Run has two hard courts and four brand new har-tru courts, five of which are lighted, ideally situated within a natural windscreen of lovely evergreen trees.
The full-service pro shop caters to every player's needs. It offers racquet stringing services and the latest in attire and equipment. Private and group lessons are offered for children and adults. Whether you're a beginner or a ranked competitive player, instruction from our certified USPTA professional is available to help you improve your game.
About the Pro
William Appelt has served as the Tennis Director at BRCC for 27 years. He's originally from Pittsburgh and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where, for 3 years, he played in the #1 singles and doubles position. Bill held top Jr. rankings in Pennsylvania and has been ranked in the top 10 in the Men's Open Division in the state of Virginia. Bill is a USPTA Certified Professional and holds a P 1 rating. His past teaching experience includes:
- Taught under Grand Slam Champion Don Budge, 1979 - 1983
- Staff Professional at Sea Pines Racquet Club on Hilton Head Island, working under the direction of Stan Smith, former world #1, 1984 - 1985
- Teaching Professional at The Fairfax Racquet Club, Fairfax Va. 1985 - 1988

Since 1989 Bill has served as the Director of Tennis. He has brought to Bermuda Run years of teaching and playing experience which includes:Trained under Grand Slam Champion Don Budge (4 years)...worked under Former World #1 player Stan Smith while at Sea Pines Racquet Club on Hilton Head Island (2 years), and he was a staff professional at the Fairfax Racquet Club.Bill has coached numerous state and nationally ranked players and was in charge of training the ball-boys for two USA Davis Cup matches held in Winston-Salem.2007 USA vs. Spain & 2008 USA vs. France.Bill has held top Jr.Rankings in Pennsylvania; was ranked #10 in the Men's Open Division in Va. and was his college #1 singles and doubles player for 3 years.
