About Garret

Before coming to Gainey Ranch, Garret was General Manager at our sister club Seville Golf & Country Club in Gilbert, Az. Garret’s professional career with Invited began in January 2007 when he was appointed General Manager at Indian Wells Country Club. In 2010 he was appointed as General/Regional Manager at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Ca. Prior to Invited, Garret was the Director of Operations at La Quinta Resort & Club, where he was responsible for resort operations and the Tennis Club at this 800-room historic resort. From 1993 – 98, Garret worked for ITT Sheraton. He spent four years as Assistant Hotel Manager/Director of Guest Services at the Five-Star Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, and 1 year at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. From 1988 – 1993, Garret was at the Five-Diamond Scottsdale Princess Resort in a variety of management positions including; Golf Coordinator where he worked closely with the TPC of Scottsdale, and was the Director of Guest Services in addition to other resort management duties. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Garret worked at the Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Az. Garret is Married to his wife Janice, they have two adult children, Sydney and Brooks - who also live in Scottsdale.

About Kurt

Kurt has been the Membership Director at our sister property, Indian Wells Country Club, in Indian Wells California for the last 4 years. He has been at multiple clubs in the Desert including Rancho La Quinta Country Club and Andalusia Country Club and is an avid golfer. Kurt is a graduate of ASU where he was a starting pitcher for the Sun Devils and went on to play in the Cincinnati Reds organization for 4 years. Kurt has many connections/relationships in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area and is excited to move back to what he calls home.  Kurt’s wife Anna, works for PGA West as a membership director. Their son Kole, will be attending ASU. Kurt's first day will be September 25th and we hope you give him a warm welcome into the Gainey Family.  

About Chris

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge from over a decade in the Events & Sports industry. He started his career in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors and eventually with the Phoenix Suns. He has also had stops with Texas-based, Learfield Sports/IMG within the NCAA and the Texas Tech Athletics program. Most recently he was the Manager of Corporate Partnerships for Scottsdale-based, Barrett-Jackson, “The Worlds Greatest Collector Car Auctions” and the #1 event in automotive entertainment. Furthermore, he was a Sports Business Consultant for Third Bridge, a global consulting firm out of New York, New York, and London, UK. He is a former collegiate athlete having graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno.

About Andy

Andy graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Management Information Systems in 2000. After working as a database management consultant for a variety of Fortune 100 clients, Andy left to follow his passion and purse a career in golf. Andy's golf career has included stops at Lake Las Vegas, East Hampton Golf Club, TPC Scottsdale, and Mirabel. He is a Class A Member of the PGA of America and is also a TPI certified instructor.

About Ryan

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland Jason moved to Phoenix in 2010.  He studied Turf and Golf Course Management at the University of Maryland.  After college Jason gained valuable knowledge working at several private clubs around the country that hosted professional events including the 2006 United States Open.  In his spare time Jason enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and kids.

About Mackenzie

Mackenzie Tucker is originally from Northeast Iowa. She has been playing the game of golf as long as she can remember. She played Division 1 College Golf for the University of Missouri Kansas City and went on to play Professionally from 2017-2020. She is an LPGA Class A Teaching Professional and still enjoys competing in events on occasion. Mackenzie loves getting to know each of her students. She believes that each body is unique and is able to move different depending on each students physical capabilities; because of this she believes every students needs will be a little different from one another. When she is not on the lesson tee she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

About Ryan

Ryan is a Southern California native and graduate of the PGA Professional Golf Management program at Arizona State University’s W.P Carey School of Business. Following a few years in the investment banking world, he redirected his energy to a career in the golf industry. Having worked at several Arizona golf clubs (Raven Phoenix, Mountain Shadows, Mesa CC, Whisper Rock GC, Torreon GC and Ancala CC) and coaching at both the collegiate and high school levels, Ryan enjoys creating memorable golf experiences and sharing his passion for the game with others.

About Mark

Mark Stombaugh is originally from Northern Indiana but moved to sunny Arizona as a child. He is married with three adult children and seven grandchildren. Mark and his wife Jackie live in Cave Creek and enjoy golfing, wine dinners, and trying all the new restaurants here. As a hotelier, Mark has worked in Meeting, Event Planning, and Food & Beverage at The Phoenician Resort, Hilton Scottsdale, Doubletree Paradise Valley, The Boulders, and The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. He is very excited to join the team here at Gainey Ranch Golf Club.
