About Paul

Paul has a distinguished career in club management, most recently serving as the General Manager at Aliso Viejo Country Club in Aliso Viejo, CA.  Prior to Aliso Viejo, he was the GM at Pauma Valley Country Club in Pauma Valley, Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach and El Camino Country Club in Oceanside.  Paul brings to BHCC an excellent skill set and an extensive background in all aspects of private club management and services, along with golf and lifestyle programming.  He remains an active member of both the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA).    Paul and his wife Shelley currently reside in north county San Diego and they have a son, Kelly, daughter-in-law, Erin, and a three-year-old grandson, Riot, who lives in Oceanside. About Taylor

A California native, Taylor grew up in a small town called Canyon Lake. She has been in the hospitality industry since 2006 when she received her first job at a local restaurant. Taylor moved to North Country San Diego to pursue her education and graduated in 2014 from California State University of San Marcos with a degree in Business Administration. Since 2011, Taylor has been serving Members at Invited. Starting off as a hostess, and moving into a serving role shortly after, Taylor has credited her customer service skills to her experiences in the hospitality industry. In January 2015, she accepted the position in Membership at Morgan Run. After a few years in the Membership role at Morgan Run, she headed over to The Heights Golf Club in June 2018 to continue her journey with Invited. Taylor lives in Oceanside, and enjoys spending time at the beach, and being outdoors. She has too many hobbies to mention, but her favorite is spending time with her family and friends.

About Kristen

Kristen’s experience includes close to 20 years in the hospitality and food and beverage industry with roles such as Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Events & Tournaments, Catering Director, etc. She has spent over 13 years in the exclusive private golf and country Club industry at multiple clubs throughout San Diego. As well, Kristen led event services and sales at The Westgate Hotel and brings a breadth of Four Diamond knowledge with her to The Heights to help serve our Members. Kristen is born and raised in San Diego and studied Business Management at Cal State San Marcos. She currently lives in Escondido with her husband, Trevor, and their beautiful daughter, Tatum. About Martin

Chef Martin Venegas has always loved the culinary arts, a talent he inherited from his family, who already succeeded in the restaurant business. While Chef Venegas was young, he quickly decided that he had to pursue what he was naturally gifted at. He knew the work would be challenging, but he felt he couldn’t lose — he knew his family depended on him. So armed with determination and passion, he went to work at the Rancho Bernardo Inn at an early age. After years of training under Chef Bob Blakesly, he honed his craft and was promoted to line cook, then later Sous Chef. His mentor, Chef Blakesly, left an indelible mark on him. He credits Chef Blakesly for the guidance he provided that had everything to do with making him the success he is today. Chef Venegas has worked at many fine restaurants, including Rancho Bernardo Inn, Al Bizcocho, and The Heights Golf Club. Always excited about the goodness of food, both in nutrients and taste, Chef Martin Venegas takes his time to create new and exciting menus and prepare world-class food.

About Kimberly

Kimberly is coming to Bernardo Heights Country Club as the former Head Golf Professional of Vista Valley Country Club, where she spent nearly 11 years of her professional career. A dual PGA & LPGA Member, she was most recently named “2020 LPGA National Professional of the Year.”  Kimberly’s dedication to member relations, golf operations, golf instruction and sharing her passion for the game have been recognized throughout the golf community for many years. Prior to her club career, she played professionally on mini-tours throughout the U.S. and Canada. She was part of a small U.S. contingency group invited to travel to China to launch the Xiamen Open. Kimberly has been very active throughout the years with the LPGA Professionals organization. She is currently serving as the Western Section President and on the National Executive Committee. About Matt

Matt Nicolle is a Class A British PGA Professional and Long Drive Champion. He grew up in the Island of Jersey, U.K. where his passion for golf began. He later moved to London where he lived for 7 years before relocating to San Diego, California in March of 2020. Matt has been working in the golf industry for over 10 years; from coaching, training, club fitting, competing to event management. Through his years of experience, he has coached and shared his passion for improving people’s games across the globe from casual golfers to future PGA professionals. Combining competitive spirit and his natural ability to produce impressive ball speeds, he took up the sport of Long Drive in 2016. He went on to win the Long Drive European Tour in 2017, with a record points total. He has now won five times globally and his longest drive in competition is 439 Yards! Matt views coaching and player development as creating an environment that aids learning, performance and growth.

About Kent

Kent has been a superintendent in the San Diego area for over 26 years and started in golf course maintenance back in 1988. Early in his career he was the Asst. Superintendent at Heritage Hills CC (known as Del Mar CC) during the construction through to the opening of the course. Kent then went to Malaysia for the construction of Kuala Lumpur Golf and CC. Upon his return to San Diego, he went to work for JC Resorts and was superintendent at Rancho Bernardo Inn, Twin Oaks Country Club and Encinitas Ranch Country Club. During his tenure he also managed the construction of Reidy Creek Golf Course and Arrowood Golf Course.  Kent is an active member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America and is a past President of the San Diego Chapter. He attended Idaho State University and graduated with a BS in Physical Education with a minor in Business Administration. About Teresa

Teresa grew up in San Diego from the age of 2 where she spent summers in Laguna Niguel with her Aunty, an avid golfer, and longtime Member of El Niguel Golf Club. After Design school, Teresa worked in hospitality beginning with timeshare rentals at Lawrence Welk Golf Resort and moving on to L’Auberge Del Mar as the VIP and Conference Representative. In 2006; She made the transition into construction as a Personal Assistant to an upscale residential contractor and later took on the Sr. Production Coordinator II position at an award-winning San Diego design and remodeling firm. With an extensive background in administration and Member experience, Teresa is returning to her hospitality roots as the Office Manager at The Heights Golf Club. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys going to the beach with her friends, writing, hanging out with her favorite dog pal, Nuisance, and starting her golf lessons at The Heights.
