About Monty

Monty brings over 33 years of experience in the country club and hospitality industry. Monty is a 1987 graduate of Texas Tech University and has a degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management. He is a Member of the Club Managers Association of America, served on the Board of the Texas Alliance of Recreational Organizations (TARO), and chaired the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Human Science at Texas Tech University. After managing a member-owned country club in West Texas, Monty joined ClubCorp in 1989. During his 18-year career with ClubCorp, he managed several premier Texas properties including Kingwood Country Club in Houston, Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, and Stonebriar Country Club in North Dallas. In 2000, Monty was promoted to Vice President where he led a team of ten regional support staff responsible for 25 country clubs. The clubs were located across the country from McAllen Texas to Boston, Massachusetts, and represented more than $118 million in annual revenues. Monty’s team led the organization in membership growth while also significantly improving employee satisfaction. He oversaw the successful development of new properties like the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lions Gate in Overland Park, Kansas, which included a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and the addition of an 18-hole Fazio Resort Course at Stonebriar Country Club.

About Matt

Chef Matthew is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Scottsdale Culinary Institute. His career began with the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs and Squaw Peak Pointe Hilton in Phoenix. He worked his way through every culinary department between both resort, from banquet cook up to Executive Sous Chef at the legendary Different Pointe of View restaurant, mentored by the famed Chef Anthony Demuro, as well as worked as Sous Chef under the masterfully creative Chef Matthew Contreras at Lantana. After six years with the Hilton, he dreamed to travel with his career, which led him to summers in Alaska as the chef at Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge as well as studying bread baking at the Flying Squirrel Bakery in Talkeetna. Winter seasons were in Aspen at the Aspen Mountain Club as Banquet Event Chef in the exclusive lodge at the very top of the Mountain. Chef Matthew also spent several years in the Cayman Islands, then on to an upscale Fishing Lodge in Idaho and six years at Luxury Guest Ranches in Wyoming in the Big Horn Mountains and in Jackson Hole. After over a decade of travel experience, he returned to Phoenix as Executive Chef of the historic Wrigley Mansion working with consulting mentor and celebrity Chef Christopher Gross. After that, newly married and with a baby on the way, he wanted to come full circle returning to his Hilton roots for a time. Now Chef Matthew brings his experiences and adventures to you with every plate as your Executive Chef.

About Travis

Travis, a Pacific Northwest native, has been a PGA Class A Member for 12 years working in the private club sector on the west coast.  During his time in California he was named San Joaquin Valley Chapter (Nor Cal) Golf Professional of the Year and Player of the Year.  He joins us most recently from Broken Top Club in Bend, Oregon where he played a key role in building the membership to record numbers.  His wife, Angie, is also an accomplished golfer and certified Sommelier.  They have a daughter Addison (9) and rescue dog Rocky.  When not playing golf, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and is looking forward to spending more time with extended family in Arizona. 

About Kyle

Kyle is class A PGA Professional (since 2012) and a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. While attending school he gained valuable experience during his internships at Geneva National Golf Resort in Lake Geneva, WI, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, OR, and The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. Kyle has been working in the golf industry since 2007 and started working at Anthem Golf and Country Club in the fall of 2016.  Kyle started playing the game at the age of 7 when his grandmother enrolled him in the junior program at a local country club in his hometown in Wisconsin. Ever since then he has had a love for the game that continues to grow stronger every year. He enjoys staying competitive by playing in Southwest PGA Section Events during the summer months. He is very excited and honored to play a large part in Golf Operations here at Anthem and loves his role as the Director of Player Development.

About Chris

Chris graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.Chris turned professional in 1985 and played in several countries in Southeast Asia and South America while pursuing his goal of playing on the PGA Tour. He became a PGA of America apprentice in 1987. Chris achieved membership on the Hogan Tour and Nike Tour, now the Web.com Tour.In 1992, Chris attained Class A status in the PGA of America and began his teaching career in earnest. He started with the John Jacobs’ Golf Schools in 1997, rising to Head Instructor at the Hillcrest Golf Course location in Sun City West before coming to Anthem in 2001. In his time at Anthem, Chris has taught all ages and experience levels of golfers, tailoring his instruction to the student, enabling them to enjoy the game more while understanding the foundation of that enjoyment is the never ending quest to improve.Chris recently became the Boy’s Golf Coach at Boulder Creek High and looks forward to coaching the next generation of up...

About Amanda

Amanda has been in the fitness industry since 1987 – Certified in various fitness formats. Amanda is from the beautiful cityof Cape Town South-Africa, and now loves living inthe Valley of the Sun.Amanda’s goals at Anthem Golf and Country Club are to keep improving the level of Customer care, member services and Fitness programming. She will continue to grow various programs within the Fitness Department.

About Chris

Coach Chris has been in the Tennis Industry for more than 20 years with extensive experience as a competitive player and administrator. Before moving to Arizona in 2005, Chris was the Head Professional at Bally Racquet Club in Kansas City, MO and served as Director of Tennis at Valley Oak Racquet Club in Red Bluff, CA. In 2010 and again in 2016 he was honored with the USPTA Southwest Professional of the Year award. In addition, he served on the USPTA Southwest Board for 8 years and on the USPTA National Executive Committee from 2012-2016. Chris played collegially at the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with a BA in Journalism (1998). He also received his Masters in Organizational Management in 2004 from the University of Phoenix. Previously Chris has served as Director of Tennis at the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe, AZ and also as the Tennis Supervisor at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex here in Arizona from 2007 to 2010.  While at STRC the complex was name...

About Dennis

Coach Dennis is a Certified Professional through the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) the Official Teaching and Certification Partner for USA Pickleball. He is also the local Ambassador for USA Pickleball. Dennis Ayotte is a Sponsored Team Gearbox Player and Authorized Dealer in Anthem. Competitive pickleball drives him with recent Gold Medals in both mens and mixed doubles here in Arizona. Dennis won a Silver Medal in Men’s Doubles 35+ at the Tournament of Champions (TOC) in Utah in 2021. He is focused on growing the sport in our community. The Ayotte’s (eye-its) are definitely a pickleball family. Jackson (19 4.5/5.0 player) and Aidan (16 3.5 player) definitely share dad’s passion for the sport. Dana (mom) and daughters Abby (14) and Josie (8) also have fun on the courts. Dennis earned a BA in Exercise Science & Athletic training. He has an extensive background in Sports Medicine.
