About Blake

Blake is the GM of April Sound Country Club. Blake moved to The Woodlands area in 2008 from Las Vegas where he was managing Las Vegas National Golf Club to join the Invited team. Blake has managed multiple courses in North Houston including Willow Creek, Hearthstone Country Club, The Golf Trails of The Woodlands and The Clubs of Kingwood. Blake Roberts joined the April Sound team from The Clubs of Kingwood, where he was General Manager from 2017 to 2020. Blake helped rebuild Kingwood after Hurricane Harvey destroyed the Club’s facilities. He joined the Club just five days before the hurricane hit, requiring him to take on not just running the Club, but also successfully managing a two-year, $50 million reconstruction project. Blake’s 22-year career includes managing both public and private golf clubs. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he studied Agricultural Business. Blake is a proud husband to wife, Michelle, and a proud father to his children, Connor and Cassidy.

About Kristin

Another Texas native, Kristin started exceeding Members’ expectations while working at Sweetwater Country Club in Sugarland, Texas. She joined the Invited family last year as the Assistant Food & Beverage Director at River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia, then transferred to the Temple Hills Country Club and is now joining the April Sound family although she has been in the private club industry for more than 7 years.Kristin enjoys hiking, reading, and movies. She is excited to explore Montgomery, and all it has to offer. With her background in food and beverage and her enthusiasm for serving members, we are happy to welcome her to the April Sound family.

About Anthony

Anthony is a twenty-year vet in the Food and Beverage industry. He started out waiting tables and worked his way up to his most recent role as the Director of Food and Beverage at The April Sound Country Club in Montgomery, Texas where he is responsible for the entire club's food and beverage operation. He joined the April Sound team in the summer of 2021, and prior to that he managed restaurants in Beverly Hills, California and country clubs in Newport Beach, California. His management philosophy is one of accountability and teamwork. He is consistently on the front lines with his staff greeting guests, delivering entrees, mixing drinks, and bussing tables. Anthony is a California native who is looking forward to the many adventures Texas has to offer. He is looking forward to hiking, and barbequing with his wife Tabitha, his son Dylan, and his daughter Brooklyn.

About James

Jimmy discovered his love for the culinary world at a very young age at his great grandmother’s house picking fresh vegetables from the garden and helping prepare the evening meal.“I still love the sound of snapping fresh green beans; it takes me straight back to my past and time spent in my childhood with my Granny Engle. We would go down to the garden right after breakfast and pick beans and whatever other vegetables were ready.  We would then sit watching her soap operas cleaning and snapping the beans to get them ready to cook.”Chef Jimmy walked into his first job as a dishwasher for a popular local restaurant, immediately falling in love with the way a restaurant kitchen operated.  Over the next 10 years, he honed his culinary skills working in several different kitchens in every position possible under several different chefs.  In 1994, he accepted a position as Executive Sous Chef at April Sound Country Club.  He was soon promoted to Executive Chef and moved around Texas to v...

About Mike

Mike Mansfield is the Director of Golf at April Sound Country Club. He began his career in golf at Bear Creek Golf World in west Houston in 1981, he is a Life Member of the PGA of America. Before coming to April Sound he was the Head Golf Pro at Willow Fork Country Club for 15 years, also had an Training Academy on Westheimer for 7 years, spent some time at Hearthstone before transferring to April Sound.

About Steve

Steve has been with Invited since 1991 and has been serving the Members at April Sound Country Club since July 2014. About Russ

Russ is the Director of Tennis of April Sound Country Club. Russ moved to The Woodlands area in 1988 from Atascocita where he was Director of Tennis at Walden on Lake Conroe. Russ was the Director of Tennis of The Woodlands Athletic Center and The Woodlands Country Club for 30 years. He has served on the Board of Directors of the USPTA Texas Section for 10 years and was inducted into the Kerrville Tivy High School Hall of Fame in 2017. Russ is a graduate of Texas State University, where he won the NAIA National Tennis Doubles Championship and earned a degree in Finance. Russ is a proud husband to wife Dona and son Jordan who is also a teaching tennis professional for Lost Creek CC a Invited facility.

About Lupe

Lupe Miller is the accounting assistant of April Sound Country Club. She started working for Invited at Temple Hills Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee in May 2017. Lupe started working at April Sound Country Club August 2018. She is originally from Houston and moved back to the area in 2018. Lupe has 30 years’ experience in the accounting department. She worked 20 years in Ophthalmology and 10 years in the Dental industry. She enjoys reading, going to the movies and traveling.
