General Information

Bay Oaks Country Club is a private club dedicated to serving our Members and guests. Established in 1988, the Club concept was based on fine amenities and country club tradition – unpretentious elegance with a sense of belonging tethering every facet of Member camaraderie. The exquisite scenic balance between lush woodlands and wide-open sky is surpassed only by the generosity of the kinship within the Club. Bay Oaks Country Club offers fine amenities, but it’s the silently discernible “welcome to our Club” that makes it a cherished Member haven.

HISTORY

In 1963, Friendswood Development Company designed a master-planned community, now known as Clear Lake City. Those visionaries designated 150 acres of prime land nestled among the oaks and woodlands that followed North Fork Bayou as the future site for a private county club and championship golf course. In the mid-1980s, ground was broken and that vision slowly took form to become Bay Oaks County Club. The inaugural round of golf at Bay Oaks Country Club was played on November 18, 1988. It would take another year to complete the construction on the beautiful 35,000-square-foot clubhouse and tennis-pool facility.

As early as the 1960s, the vision for this club was to offer more than just a premier facility to its Members. The initial focus was to create a place where people who share a common purpose could gather and build lasting memories, strong relationships and family traditions. In essence, Bay Oaks Country Club would be an extension to each Member’s home and a complement to their business.

Without question, Member involvement has been one of the strongest factors in the success of this Club. Bay Oaks Country Club was honored with Invited’s highest award when chosen as the 1998 National Country Club of the Year. This recognition provides testament to the partnership that exists between the Members and the staff. We are proud of our past. With our Members, we celebrate our present and look forward to the future.
