Our Story

Indian Wells Country Club has a rich history of bringing family and friends together. The vision for the Club began in 1956 with the idea to build Coachella Valley’s third golf and country club consisting of nine holes surrounded by houses for Members to use as their home away from home in the desert.

Founders included prominent residents Desi Arnaz, Paul Prom, Eddie Susalla, Linn Johnson, Earl Murphy, Milt Hicks, Bill Worthing and John Curci.

Since its celebrity start over 50 years ago, Indian Wells was and is still known as the “FUN Club of the Desert” with one of the most
active social calendars and friendliest Members in the valley. The Club spans over 36 challenging holes of golf that wind their way through the
picturesque mountains, including The Classic Course, which was the original home of the Bob Hope Desert Classic for more than 40 years.
To complement the incredible golf, the main clubhouse features an impressive 70,000 square feet with one of the largest ballrooms at a
country club in the desert. Members build relationships and create lasting memories through a variety of golf and social events, along
with special clubs and groups. The Club also offers a second, smaller clubhouse, the Cove Clubhouse, which is a member favorite venue that is perfect for private events.
