Belmont Country Club

Members of Belmont Country Club, a long-time business partner of Cedar Lane, donated 45 holiday meals to support families at Cedar Lane Elementary School. The donations were coordinated by Belmont Country Club General Manager Mario Almonte and each meal contained enough food to feed a family of eight. Cedar Lane Parent Liaison Elizabeth Arenas and Principal Bob Marple brought the meals back to the school on December 24 for families to pick up and delivered meals to families that were unable to get to the school.

Marple appreciated the donation saying, “I could not be prouder to be a member and former resident of such a wonderful and giving community committed to taking care of those who benefit from the additional support and outreach that was provided. The delight that so many of our families and students shared with us upon receiving these delicious meals was just awesome and truly was a bright spot as we began our holiday season.”

Belmont Country Club staff shared the event with Members on Facebook saying, “Gifts may be what we give one another, but a meal is what brings us together. After a particularly challenging year, we teamed up with Cedar Lane Elementary School to identify families in need in our local community that would benefit from having a meal donated. Giving the gift of food made their holidays a little brighter and because of the generosity of our Members at Belmont, we were able to donate an astounding 45 meals this holiday season, feeding up to 360 people! Thank you to all who donated!”

Principal Marple presented General Manager Mario Almonte with a gift created by students to thank Belmont Country Club for their wonderful partnership. “Today I had the chance to finally reconnect with my friend Mario Almonte from Belmont Country Club to present him and his TEAM with a Community Hero recognition. Mario has been instrumental in so many generous efforts in supporting our school community and it was a real joy to be able to present him with a recognition book created by our students, with videos, artwork, and heartfelt letters. We are blessed to have such a wonderful partnership with Belmont Country Club, thank you Mario and TEAM!!”
